Hi, I’m Lindsey! Welcome to LindSwept.
It all started with a map (a Google map, not a paper map, lets be for real)and a big dream: to visit all 50 states as a family before our daughter graduates college. LindSwept is the story of that journey, one road trip, one memory, one new state at a time.
Our adventures include three main characters: me, my husband Nick, and our 15-year-old daughter Anniston. Anniston is in her junior year of high school. Volleyball is her sport of choice, and some of our content will be centered around where we’re traveling for volleyball camps or tournaments.
We’ve made it to 30 states so far, and we’re savoring every mile before Anniston begins her next chapter.
A Little About Me
I’ve lived in Arkansas my whole life, but I’ve always had a heart for travel. Chicago and New York are two of my favorite cities, and while I love the quiet of small towns, there’s something about exploring a city that makes me excited.
Born and raised in the south, but I’m not southern (IYKYK). I don’t bless people’s hearts. I like a good cocktail. I cuss a little. Sometimes a lot. Petty is my favorite color.
I’m starting this journey 30 states in, so some of the content will be stories from several years ago. Bear with me as you’re subjected to less-than-aesthetic photos, posts about food that may or may not be accompanied by pictures and some whiplash-filled posts where plans changed moment-by-moment.
Since I was 21, I’ve worked in the corporate world. I work so I can travel. Sarcasm is my love language, coffee (or a cocktail) is my sidekick, and, sometimes, the best stories often begin with an unplanned detour.
What You’ll Find Here
LindSwept is a collection of our family travel stories, practical tips for exploring with teens and reflections on what it means to be fully present during the in-between years. Whether you’re planning your own 50-state adventure or just looking for a spark of inspiration for your next weekend getaway, I’m so glad you’re here.
I promise to always be honest about our travels, what we did right, but also what we did wrong. So buckle up. We’re just getting swept down the road, one laugh, one snack, one sarcastic comment and one scenic overlook at a time.
